Handmade rustic serving/chopping/bread board
One of our beautiful bread/cheese/serving boards that has been lovingly handmade in the heart of Norfolk using 100% reclaimed timber. We make all of our boards as individual items, i.e. so they are not mass produced, and each one is designed and crafted as an unique piece. In total, we have around 20 different designs of board, but each one is different from the next due to the various types of woods we use and the markings each board has. Most of our boards are made from either deal wood or European pine, British Columbian pine and sometime oak when we can get it. The deal wood is comparatively recent in age when compared to the European and British Columbian pine which is usually between 100 and 150 years old. We hand pick each piece of wood in order to create the most interesting and unique design and that is what we believe makes our boards different. Our aim is to recreate authentic traditional styles of boards that look and feel like they have had a loved history and been used over many years by generations of bakers, cheese lovers and cooks.
All our boards are finished with a food grade oil that highlights the beautiful colours and graining within the wood whilst also protecting the wood from any food staining etc that could arise from everyday use.
